Biography
Kwok is an experienced Forensic Engineer who has performed over 300 investigations across multiple disciplines such as Metallurgy, Failure Analysis, Fire and Explosion, Marine and Watercraft, Rust and Airborne Contamination. He has conducted investigations into the corrosion and waviness of shipments of hot-rolled steel sheets and coils and determined the cause and extent of corrosion and physical damages to the shipments of hot-rolled steel sheets and coils. He has also conducted fires and explosions investigations throughout Malaysia and Indonesia at Palm oil mills, construction sites, factories, petrochemical plants and steel mills.
Kwok is skilled in identifying fatigue (mechanical, thermal & corrosion), defective weld, general corrosion, pitting, erosion, stress corrosion cracking, intergranular corrosion, sensitization, sigma phase, graphitization, spheroidization, creep, dealloying, brittle failure, ductile overload, wear, embrittlement, arcing (copper wires) and short-term and long-term overheating (boiler tubes). While providing consultancy on aspects of materials, metallurgical and corrosion failure analyses to the Oil & Gas industry including PETRONAS, PRefChem, ExxonMobil, HRC, SVP, KPOC, CPOC, SGS, and TUV.
