Biography
Mark Henry has more than forty years of experience as an architect in building design, documentation, and construction. He has provided architectural and planning services for many building types and a wide variety of projects including single family residences, multi-family, religious, educational, commercial, industrial, theatre, restaurant, and clean room lab/ manufacturing facilities. Prior to his career in architecture, he worked in the construction field where he gained comprehensive knowledge of construction and materials.
As a building envelope expert, Mark performs on-site inspections, assessments, investigations, and Cause & Origin evaluations. He has extensive experience regarding building envelope analysis for masonry, stucco, exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS), window glazing systems, flashing, water and vapor barriers, roofing systems and resolutions to building envelope failures due to moisture infiltration.
Mark has provided expert investigation support for construction deficiency/defect cases involving various building system components, mediation, and trial preparation. He has provided expert witness testimony for building codes, accessibility codes, construction issues and zoning code regulations.
During his more than twenty years as principal and founder of Mark D. Henry Architect, P.C., Mark had the opportunity to work with many businesses throughout the region. He was often tasked with creative solutions for space needs, utilization, streamlining facility management, material selection and best-use analysis, administration of outside consultants, site review and selection and representation before governing bodies. His experience includes co-founding and managing a real estate development and investment company, concentrating on the rehabilitation and adaptive re-use of commercial and residential properties. His responsibilities included real estate acquisition and divestiture transactions, leasing, management and financial analysis, facility maintenance analysis and repair; vendor and contractor management; and building envelope issues.
