Biography
Laura provides expert knowledge on insurance claims associated with delays in start-up (DSU) and business interruption (BI) on behalf of the global insurance market. She resides in the NYC Metro Area and has utilized her extensive field and technical knowledge to develop expert technical reports for various DSU Claims, BI Claims, and legal proceedings for major projects across global insurance markets. Laura’s expertise includes clarifying schedule and delay matters by examining a project’s critical path, identifying the potential benefit of any mitigation strategies, and determining when commercial operations would have begun had no insured events occurred. She assists clients in establishing accurate decision-making for loss mitigation, formulates potential exposure considerations, and creates the foundation for a successful resolution.
Laura’s experience includes project engineering in the areas of bridge construction, transportation infrastructure, marine construction, and oil and gas in the US and internationally. She worked on notable projects, including the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge main-cable inspection and Queensboro Bridge deck replacement. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and has acquired her Professional Engineer (P.E.) License for Civil Engineering Construction from the state of New Jersey. She prides herself on being highly collaborative, creative-thinking, thorough, organized, and helps to bring clarity to complex delay and scheduling issues and by assisting clients with controlling costs, mitigating risks, avoiding disputes, and delivering reports with clear and logical conclusions.
