Biography
Dr. Kemal Sarp Arsava is a Senior Researcher at Halliwell Fire Research and an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), with over 15 years of research and academic experience in fire safety engineering, structural analysis, and risk management. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (USA), with expertise spanning electric vehicle fires, wildland-urban interface fires, fire suppression systems, and structural behavior under extreme loading conditions. He has led and contributed to more than 10 international research projects funded by the European Commission, U.S. federal agencies, and industry partners, including coordinating the large-scale TREEADS project under Horizon 2020, involving 47 international partners. He is the author of over 18 peer-reviewed journal papers, holds four patents, and has produced numerous technical reports and conference publications.
